Planning

The Board of Education, wishes to improve efficiency and decrease operational costs while providing educational spaces that support district programs. The scope of work for the 2018 Capital Project have been prioritized by the Education Facilities Planning Committee to address traditional educational spaces limiting current and future learning models; continue to improve operational efficiencies through building envelope and systems upgrades; and continue to monitor and address portions of the building/ systems reaching the end of their useful life.

Preparing

May 2019 - It looks like the 2018 capital project will finally commence. Bids came in within budget, but not without some items moving to Alternate list to be considered at the end of the project. Some of these items include the MSHS canopy and some HVAC Heating units at the MSHS. The board has approved the contracts. The contractors in the district have met three times to clarify items and develop a schedule.

The district will utilize this website to keep alI staff, students, parents and community members updated on each project.

It is important for us to get into the mindset that for the next two years we are going to have to be flexible and adapt to changes as the capital project moves along.

District wide you will see the “Follow our Progress” poster hanging in open spaces. As we complete phases, the arrows will be filled in.

Construction

Kirst Construction is our General Contractor. Kirst has subcontractors who should also have a badge if they are working inside. Although most of the construction will be taking place outside initially, work inside will mostly happen after 3pm when school is in session.
