High School STEaM & Classroom Additions

STEM careers are growing 2.5 times faster than the non-STEM average in New York State, with those working in STEM careers earning almost twice the average for all workers in the State. Due to the rigor of STEM fields of study at the postsecondary level, it is critical to expose students to these areas early in their educational career. It is an economic imperative that New York students have the supports to master the skills they need to succeed.
The district wants to provide hands on STEAM experiences that mirror current developing STEAM careers. These include coding, computer science, robotics, science experiments, cross-curricular problem solving, etc.

The STEaM addition is an open concept hands on environment with opportunities for all styles of collaboration.

2nd floor houses two new classrooms which will allow CRCS to provide all students their educational programing needed for them to be successful.
UPDATES:

07/12/19 - All foliage has been removed to allow for construction.

All Foundations have been dug and poured.

All the plumbing has been roughed-in and backfilled.

Sidewalks near exits are being poured the week of August 26 to allow for egress while school is in session and construction continues.

09/04/19 - Foundation walls are completed. Block laying has started. Temporary Fire Escape is installed for emergency use only.

09/16/19 - Most of the foundation walls are in with egress available for emergency purposes. Cinder blocks being delivered on the 17th of this month for wall construction.

09/30/19 - Block Wall should be completed by October 15th for the 1st floor. Steel decking for the 2nd floor will be installed mid October.

10/18/19 - 2nd Floor block is being laid on the steel decking.

11/08/19 - Radiant PEX Heat tubing installed in the 2nd floor High School Steam Room. Concrete on the 2nd floor will be poured on Nov. 11th starting at 7:02am.

12/09/2019 - 2nd Floor concrete floor is poured. Room is being installed this week. Any yellow paint on outside of building is a vapor barrier.

12/30/2019 - Roof is installed. Outside rain screen framework is complete.

01/28/2020 - Inside walls are being built while duct work is being installed.

03/09/2020 - The insulation that goes under the rain-screen is being installed. The railing for the outside classroom is being installed, waiting for glass. Windows are being installed this week.

05/21/2020 - Walls are painted. WIndows and doors have been installed. Sidewalks are all poured. New electric rollup door is installed.Outside classroom should start June 1st.

6/11/2020 - Cloud lighting is being hung. Tile is being installed in the restrooms and in the hallways.
